CEbotiX is the National Centre for Operational Excellence in Marine Robotics, headquartered in the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton. Our consortium of UK based, leading-edge companies offers an unrivalled depth and breadth of expertise in the Maritime Autonomous Systems / smart shipping area, with access to world-leading facilities and equipment.

We offer operational development, workforce training and assurance of smart shipping technology, in order to make maritime safer, cleaner and smarter. Placing the human at the centre, we equip the mariner for technology adoption, through developing and delivering a range of courses both to upskill today’s mariner, and to train the future mariner. We have a range of short courses available for operators, engineers and supervisors of uncrewed surface and sub-surface vessels and are developing an apprenticeship for a combined engineer/operator.



CLC is an experienced, high quality training provider, specialising in the delivery of Traineeships and Apprenticeships throughout the South of England. We are funded by the Skills Funding Agency, graded as Good by Ofsted and work in partnership with Employers, Schools, Academies, Colleges, Local Authorities and Job Centre Plus. CLC work with a large number of high quality sector based employers for the provision of Traineeship and Apprenticeship vacancies and work placements.

CLC provide employers with Apprenticeship and Traineeship programmes to new and existing employees and young people.


DA Training and Consultancy

DA Training and Consultancy provide a range of niche apprenticeships from Outdoor Activity Instructor, through to Housing and Digital Marketing/Junior Content Provider. We also are able to deliver apprenticeships within the Generic Business Administration, Management and Customer Service Sectors.

We deliver other funded and commercial training within the Employability, Digital Inclusion, and First Aid Sectors.


Eastleigh College

Eastleigh College is a Further Education provider offering full-time and part-time technical and professional courses, in addition to Apprenticeships and Higher Education qualifications. The College currently has over 22,000 learners and works directly with over 1,100 employees from across the region. It is ranked 1st in Hampshire and 10th nationally against all other 6th form and further education colleges for its student achievement rates.

The College is committed to working in partnership with a wide range of organisations, groups, other providers and employers in the community. Through its extensive partnership work, the College successfully contributes to both the economic development of the local community and the regional agenda for wealth creation and employability.


Fareham College

Fareham College offers Intermediate, Advanced & Higher Apprenticeships in a range of subject areas. We work closely with our employers and Apprentices to offer a first class training package from the very first contact. We pride ourselves on our range of expertise across all subjects and our innovative and responsive delivery methods set us apart from the competition.


Farnborough College of Technology

Farnborough College of Technology offers exceptional teaching and learning facilities and in November 2011 the College was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted across all of its work. The College has an extensive offer of Apprenticeships and work-based provision working with companies of all sizes. The combination of excellent success rates and the quality of training and support confirms why the college is in the top five in the UK. The college is the largest provider of Apprenticeships in the North Hants area.

Hampshire County Council

Hampshire Futures sits within the Childrens’ Services Department of Hampshire County Council with responsibility to support young people and adults in Hampshire to achieve economic wellbeing and quality of life. We work to ensure that our residents have the skills they need to plan and develop a successful career, and businesses have access to a workforce able to meet their current and future skills needs.

Havant & South Downs College

At Havant & South Downs College we deliver outstanding quality professional training, using assessors and trainers who have many years of industry experience. From your initial interest in an Apprentice, our highly experienced team of account managers will support you. We help with understanding the legislation surrounding Apprenticeships, finding the right Apprentice, using your LEVY Funds and digital account and accessing additional government funding to support training and development in your organisation. We would love to meet with you to design an individualised programme to meet your needs and get you involved in great initiatives like our business breakfast or annual employment fair with over 4000 students. Havant & South Downs College work with a wide range of employers and recruit for Apprenticeship opportunities all year round. JBC Skills Training

JBC Skills Training is a specialist provider of digital apprenticeships. Our apprenticeships include technical IT, software development, cyber security, and digital marketing. We are an Ofsted grade Good provider. We work with employers of all sizes from large corporations to SMEs and start-ups. Our post-16 commissioning team works closely with secondary schools and post-16 providers in the Portsmouth travel to learn area to ensure that all young people have an appropriate offer of education and training post-16 and the curriculum offer meets local demand and need.

Portsmouth College

Portsmouth College offers Apprenticeship and Adult Education provision with a range of courses suited to the needs of local business and community. Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW)

SSW helps support small & medium businesses (SMEs) in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to upskill their employees with training courses and qualifications to help their business grow. We can support:

·       current employees who need to learn new skills,

·       employees that have returned to work from furlough,

·       new recruits that need training, including employees enrolled on the Kickstart scheme.

SSW works with lots of expert training providers to deliver a broad range of  accredited and non- accredited training courses covering a range of subjects including, Marine & Maritime, Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defence, Construction, Clean Green Tech, Health, Transport & Logistics and many more.

Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR)

SSR is an initiative designed to support employers and individuals affected by redundancy. It is a tailored service to meet your needs as an employer, offering a wide range of training support. A dedicated Partnership Coordinator will work with you to identify the best sources of support and training to help you achieve your career goals and get back to work. Both SSW and SSR are co-financed by the Education and Skills Funding Agency and the European Social Fund, so businesses can access a wide range of funded training at no cost.


Southampton Engineering Training Association

SETA, the Southampton Engineering Training Association, has been training engineers for over 50 years.  We specialise in engineering apprenticeships and adult skills training and offer a range of commercial and bespoke courses and qualifications, covering a wide range of engineering skill areas, from electrical, mechanical, milling & turning, design & draughtsperson through to welding & fabrication. Our apprenticeships are endorsed by employers and assured by various professional institutions including The IET, The ImechE, NET and The InstMC.  We are graded ‘Good’ by OFSTED.  Please contact us as we are always happy to help with enquiries.


Southampton City Council

Southampton City Council supports Apprenticeships both as an employer and with brokerage service to local Southampton businesses.

We have an action plan which details how we are enabling the people of the city to progress in fulfilling careers, and the city’s businesses to recruit successfully and grow and prosper.

Our key targets and objectives include:

  • Improving information, advice and guidance for young people so they can make informed career choices and be inspired by the apprenticeship opportunities in the city
  • Work with schools and colleges to raise awareness, the recruitment of local Apprentice Ambassadors to promote apprenticeships, and the production of an ambassadors film.
  • Introduction of an ‘Apprenticeship First’ scheme for jobs within the Council
  • Implementation of a local helpline and support for Southampton businesses to help them to take on apprentices

In addition, we have been developing information on current and future skills and employment demands for the city so that apprenticeship providers can ensure they are training young people in the skills needed for the city’s economy.


Solent University

Solent University is a dynamic and ambitious university, with a reputation for industry focused courses and our higher and degree apprenticeship programmes bring further learning into the workplace. Apprenticeships are not just learning programmes – they are designed in collaboration with employers and professional bodies and are a great way for employers to increase productivity, develop employees and attract new talent to fill workforce gaps.

We currently offer a range of higher and degree apprenticeships in leadership and management, construction, project management, health and social care, nursing, engineering, marketing and digital. We continue to expand our provision and are keen to work and listen to employers and potential apprentices.

The University has been awarded Silver in the Teaching and Excellence Framework (TEF), achieved OFSTED Good on Inspection and was shortlisted in The Higher Education Awards for University of the Year 2019.

Steve Willis Training Centres

Steve Willis Training Centres are specialists in Gas, Plumbing and Electrical Apprenticeships.?Our apprenticeships offer the perfect way to learn a trade - a mix of on the job training with an employer and practical and classroom sessions at our two modern, well equipped training centres in Sussex and Hampshire. The University of Portsmouth

The TEF aims to recognise and reward excellence in teaching and learning, and help inform prospective students' choices for higher education.

The University of Portsmouth offers Degree (level 6) and Masters (level 7) Apprenticeships in many subjects including Chartered Manager, Embedded Electronics Systems Design and Development Engineer and Chartered Surveyor. The University is expanding this provision each coming year to ensure employers have a wide spectrum of degree apprenticeships to fit their skills shortage needs, so please check our website regularly to see latest news on our offer.
